A Tale of Two River Drives Re-Opening

Good news for folks trying to get around downtown Davenport. River Drive, which had been closed for the better part of the past week due to flooding from the Mississippi River, will reopen to traffic today.

Meanwhile, in Moline, the River Drive exit ramp from I-74 into downtown will re-open this week as well. The ramp was closed due to construction on the new I-74 bridge.

Shortly after the River Drive off-ramp opens, a piece of 7th Avenue that runs below I-74 will close. Traffic exiting I-74 onto 7th Avenue from Iowa will only be able to travel west on 7th Avenue, while traffic exiting from the south will only be able to travel east on 7th.

The 7th Avenue closure is expected to last into early July.

Frustrating, but remember - shiny new bridge!
