Meet this week's Adoptable Pet of the Week - Duke!

Duke is a 4 year old neutered, American Bulldog mix, around 85 pounds, but he is built very tall and lean. He was found as a stray last October in Miami, Florida, and was minutes from being put down before being adopted by a family in Iowa. Unfortunately his family cannot keep him because they live in an apartment and he really needs to be in a house with a fenced yard. He is temporarily being housed at a local boarding kennel.

Duke is very friendly and great with children; he seems to be drawn to them far more than adults. He is probably not a great match for small children since he can knock little ones down when he gets excited.

He needs an outlet for his energy, mostly a backyard to run in, and a place to play with his toys. He knows how to destroy most toys, though he doesn't chew on other things, unless it resembles a stuffed animal or dog toy.
