During the month of May, my task was to take 100 selfies everyday. It was a lofty goal, but I got after it. I had a lot of help, particularly from the furry residents of the local animal shelters!

I stopped by King's Harvest, and the Humane Society of Scott County, and fell in love over and over again with the animals. While I'd love to, I unfortunately can't take them all in on my own. But maybe some of those cuties can find a home with some B100 listeners!

So, we're starting something new. Each week, we'll introduce you to a new animal – our Pet of the Week. We'll post videos and pictures, and all the information we have on the pet. The rest is up to you!

Our first pet of the week is Hollis:

He's a black and white domestic short-haired cat. He's been at the Humane Society of Scott County since March and is estimated to be about 3 years old. He's very tame and according to Pam, the shelter's director, compatible with dogs and kids.

Visit him in person at the Humane Society of Scott County, located at 2802 W Central Park Ave, Davenport, IA 52804. The adoption fee is only $20 this month!

UPDATE: As of 7/16, Hollis has been adopted! He found his new home thanks to the sharing power of Facebook and is off to his new family. In all the excitement, the family didn't get to take a picture together yet but we wish them the best! We'll introduce our next pet of the week on 7/17.
