There are a lot of reasons to be happy in life, and if you live in Bettendorf, you just might be one of the happiest people in the entire state. According to Home Snacks, our very own QC is the 7th happiest city in Iowa out of 80 cities.

I would definitely argue that Bettendorf is the happiest because they're home to Crust Pizzeria, but it seems that Home Snacks delved a bit deeper than the food scene of each city. They analyzed data from the FBI, census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and other sources to come up with the list, and based the rankings on factors including percentage of residents with a college degree, average commute times, employment rates, percentage of sunny days, number of married couples, and percentage of homeowners.

Bettendorf scored well due to its high percentage of married couples, relatively low crime rate, and surprisingly high number of sunny days per year-averaging 203. Move over, San Diego! You could argue that the rest of the Quad Cities receive just as many sunny days per year,  but Davenport actually made the bottom of the list, ranking at number 71, most likely due to its higher crime rate.

Our neighbor to the north, Eldridge, also ranked fairly high on the list, coming in at number 25, with both a high percentage of married couples and low crime rate. Interestingly enough, Eldridge somehow averages one less sunny day a year than the QC, however.
