This already in effect. Here's what you need to know and why.

Scott County and the Emergency Management Agency were granted a ban for burning today at 5 p.m.

In addition to weather conditions not being good for starting fires (pretty much all week long), it's harvest time. Little rainfall, windy conditions that dry things out, well, it doesn't take much for a fire to get out of hand quickly.

According to KWQC.com

'This ban will remain in place until such time that the risk is reduced and the agencies request the ban to be lifted.'

Another thing I think about, are cigarettes. Please make sure those are extinguished all the way too. No fires please.
