The Channel Cat water taxi operated by MetroLINK begins its 2018 season today. If you want to avoid crossing the Mississippi River via one of the bridges. Have business along the river near one of the landings. Or are just looking for something to do outdoors with the family. The Channel Cat water taxi might just be the answer.

The Channel Cat makes a circuit along the Mississippi River stopping at four landings along the route. The water taxi stops at: Riverbend Commons in Moline, Isle of Capri Casino in Bettendorf, The Village of East Davenport and John Deere Commons in Moline. Monday through Thursday service begins at 11AM CT and runs through about 7PM CT. Friday, Saturday and Sunday service starts at 9AM CT. You can see the complete schedule here.

If you're curious about the new I-74 river bridge, the Channel Cat's route will give you a close up of the new bridge's construction. MetroLINK's manager of administration tells The Quad City Times that The Channel Cat expects to see ridership numbers to top the 45,000 people who rode it last year because of peoples curiosity about the new bridge.

All day fares are $8.00 for adults, $4.00 for kids ages two to ten. Tickets allow you to hop on and off the boat at different landings throughout the day.
