It's Restaurant Week in the Quad Cities. It's a chance for Quad Citians to get out and enjoy or try all the culinary masterpieces the Quad Cities has to offer.

The Quad City Times checked in with a new restaurant in LeClaire that is a family affair and it has peaked my interest.

I miss the big family breakfasts we used to have when I was a kid. Once a month we would go to Grandma and Grandpas on Sunday morning for breakfast that always included Grandpas half cooked pancakes. Now that I'm older and have a child of my own, I try to make breakfast every Sunday. Sometimes I succeed. Her favorite is frozen waffles from Hy-Vee. How can I argue with that.

A new place in LeClaire takes those family breakfasts seriously. Breakfast at Berries opened Feb.7th, filling LeClaire's void for breakfast in the small town. There isn't any thing fancy on the menu. Just normal breakfast foods like your mom used to make like eggs, bacon, pancakes, French toast and more all from local farmers. The eggs come from Princeton, and the produce comes from the local Freight House Farmers Market in Davenport.

My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Stop in at 1295 Eagle Ridge Rd., LeClaire . Open 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. They also have a Facebook page here.
