This may be the only way to get me to buy coffee!

California's San Diego County Fair is famous for its wacky food creations. The fair was in the news last week after unveiling their deep-fried SLIM-FAST BAR.

Another food stand has just announced its newest outrageous concoction...deep-fried Starbucks.

Bacon A-Fair, a popular vendor there, takes finely-ground Starbucks coffee, infuses it in a sweet pastry dough, deep-fries it until golden, rolls it in sugar and serves it with whipped cream. [ABC News]

What was the inspiration for the pairing? Here's what Bacon A-Fair owner Mike Peterson told ABC News:

“So you have that coffee, sugar and cream effect. It gets golden crunchy on the outside and it’s sweet and gooey on the inside, and the coffee is melted into the dough and it gets a good buzz going ... I thought it would be great to have a caffeine shot in a form that was not liquid, so I started playing around with different ways we could deep fry it ... They’ve been our big seller this year.”

I normally hate coffee, but I might actually be willing to try this...does it look good to you? -Slater
