Did You Know That Iowa Has A Bacon Themed Restaurant?

Bacon lovers, you will want to hop in the car ASAP. Just a 2 hour and 40-minute drive from the QC is Jethro's BBQ and Bacon Bacon, located in West Des Moines. Jethro's has six locations, but their West Des Moines restaurant is the only one that is bacon-centered.

Only In Your State recently did a story on Jethro's and highlighted some of the restaurant's bacon high points, including the bacon themed artwork, bacon entrees, and bacon bloody marys.

After reading about Jethro's, I knew I had to check out the rest of their menu. Some of the most bacon-licious menu items include the Bacon Billy wrap, featuring buffalo style boneless chicken and a creamy bacon sauce; the Ultimate BLT, which promises to include "slabs and slabs" of bacon; and the Bacon Bacon Sandwich, with pork belly, bacon, BBQ sauce, sauteed onions, and American cheese. Oh, and don't forget to top off your meal with a big scoop of bacon ice cream, a Jethro's favorite.

If you're feeling extremely brave, the Adam Emmenecker challenge could be your Everest- the burger is comprised of the Drake University basketball star's favorite foods, including spicy pickle, pork tenderloin, buffalo chicken tenders, white cheddar sauce, fried cheese cubes, Texas brisket, and applewood smoked bacon, and a full POUND of waffle fries. Finish the burger in 15 minutes and you win all of the glory (and, most likely, all of the stomach cramps).
