Here are the top 5 reasons the John Deere Classic is awesome for the Quad-City area:

Monday Qualifier at Pinnacle Country Club.

Are you aware that on Monday, a group of pros and amateurs compete for the final 4 spots in the John Deere Classic? After paying a fee they look to shoot as low as possible and hopefully get into the 156 player field.

    Wednesday Pro-Am.

One pro and 4 amateurs, some you may even know, play for fun. At least for those lucky enough to pay the $4,500 entry fee and play with their favorite pro. It’s a handicapped event where the amateurs get strokes based on their handicap and the difficulty of the hole. It’s strictly a practice round for the pros who may not have seen the TPC @ Deere Run recently.

    The Second Round on Friday.

Make the cut and make some money. Don’t and you’re either going home, waiting for the plane to the British Open (The Open) or hanging out in the Quads for the weekend. Or not.

The Golf Channel and CBS Sports.

Both media teams do a tremendous job of promoting the beauty, history and vibe of the Quad-City region. Not surprisingly ... they like us!

    Birdies For Charity.

Tons of money going back into the community AND we get a world class sporting event. It doesn’t get any better, does it?
