Free Family Event in Rock Island This Weekend

Rock Island is the place to be for this free, family fun experience.

Whether you have kids or are a kid at-heart, downtown Rock Island is having Rock the Arts! showcases in multiple locations for art enthusiasts this weekend.

According to OurQuadCities.com,

The two-day public event, with no admission charge, will take place in a focused trio of downtown Rock Island venues: the Desoto Building, MidCoast Gallery West/The ARTery and Quad City Arts. Artists will be set up with areas showcasing a variety of media, from jewelry and ceramics to body painting.

There's always plenty to do when artists are around. They will have free, hands-on clay activities for the kiddos Saturday afternoon at the Desoto Building.

Some artists will have exhibits for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefitting National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in memory of local artist, William Martin, Jr.
