Last week, we learned that Illinois' medical marijuana usage has jumped up roughly 80% in the last year. Now, the Quad Cities could be following suit.

Your CBD Store is officially open in Davenport, hoping to help those suffering from pain and anxiety. CBD is short for Cannibidiol, a component in cannabis and hemp that's become known for its reported therapeutic abilities, and favored by some as an alternative to typical pain meds.

While the store is one of 40 across the country, it is the first in Iowa. According to the Quad City Times, they sell "CBD oil, water solubles, edibles, tinctures, creams and treats for pets."

In the last few months, CBD has become a controversial topic in the QCA. In January alone, Muscatine police took CBD products from five local stores, per the Quad City Times' report.

Even so, it seems to be prevailing. While CBD is just a component, actual dispensaries are coming to Iowa soon. Davenport will host one, and all five are expected to open come December.
