The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will be making multiple stops near and around the Quad Cities this holiday season. If you're not familiar with the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train it's a train decked out with 14 cars lit up like a Christmas Tree. If you've never been a Holiday Train event here's how the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train website describes it:

"A typical Holiday Train event goes something like this: the train arrives and pulls to a safe stop in front of the crowd. The stage door lowers and the band opens with its first song. After that, a brief presentation takes place with local food bank officials and other dignitaries. Once complete, the band resumes performing a mix of traditional and modern holiday-themed songs.  The whole event lasts about 30 minutes. Once the band plays its farewell song, the stage door closes, and the train heads off to the next stop."

One of the motivations of Canadian Pacific doing the Holiday Train is to help local food banks along it's route. Since 1999 Canadian Pacific has donated $14.5 Million Canadian Dollars and 4.3 million pounds of food to North American Food Banks. The event is free, however, Canadian Pacific asks that people bring a donation of food or cash to help their local food bank.
