How Pokemon Almost Got An Iowa Hawkeye Football Player Arrested

Iowa City Police showed up with guns drawn and this football player, totally surprised.

When Faith Ekakitie (defensive end) put in his ear buds to listen to music and chase a Pokemon Go last week, he wasn't expecting to be surrounded by police, with guns drawn.

What Faith didn't know, was that he fit the description of an armed bank robber suspect. Police spotted Faith at a park about 3 miles from the bank. He fit the description, right down to the having something on his head, his sunglasses. As Faith was reaching into his pocket to get his phone, the police moved in swiftly and weren't going to take any chances, still not knowing he wasn't the suspect.

In a note on Facebook, Faith says he is 'thankful to be alive' today. He also commends the Iowa City Police Department for their professionalism, realizing how a misunderstanding could have led to a deadly situation.
