I know things have been pretty grim in the financial department for the State of Illinois, but for some reason this really hit home for me.

The lack of funding for schools is bad enough when it comes to the budget and financial crisis the State of Illinois is in. But, when electricity gets shut off at state parks because the State can't pay their bills, that raises an extra brow of concern.

As WQAD.com reports, the lights got turned back on thanks to an anonymous donor.

While the donation is above and beyond what any citizen should have to do (given the fact we pay those things called taxes), it's nice to know how much people care, despite the fact it isn't clear how long the parks will remain open.
