The Cities of Moline, East Moline and Silvis have been awarded a Single Family Rehabilitation grant from the Illinois Housing Development Authority and are coordinating a lottery to select households for program participation.

According to the Quad City Times, the Single Family Rehabilitation Program will assist low-income homeowners to repair their homes and remove health and safety hazards by repairing or replacing costly maintenance items.

Low-to-moderate income homeowners may complete a lottery entry form at the city hall in the city where their home is located. Owner-occupied lottery entries will be accepted now through Aug. 31 during normal business hours. Lottery boxes will be removed at 4 p.m. Aug. 31.

Attendance at the lottery drawing is mandatory for all applicants who want to participate in the program. The drawing will be held Sept. 16 at the Moline Public Library, 3210 41st St., Moline. Doors open at 8 a.m. with the drawing at 9 a.m.

Faxed or emailed lottery entries will not be accepted. Only one lottery entry per household will be allowed.

Lottery entry forms are non-transferable. A select number of entries will be drawn for each city. City staff members will work through selected lottery applications to review eligibility for program services. The program has limited funding.
