And they say Iowans aren't cultured.

Just before the school year started all over the country this week, the West Des Moines school district was having a teachers meeting. During an address from the district's superintendent, music suddenly began to play. As the confused superintendent walked off the stage to figure out what was going on, one of the district's teachers emerged between the curtains with a microphone. Sure enough, he began to sing a school-themed rendition of "One Day More" from Les Mis. As the song went on, more and more teachers joined him in the ballad about savoring the last day before the students showed up for class.

Though school isn't quite as dramatic as the subject matter of the musical Les Miserables, based on the novel by Victor Hugo about the fight for revolution in France, the song is pretty epic. The teachers even thought to display their changed lyrics on a projector during their performance, so you can see the funny stuff they came up with. Check out their video, it's sure to make you smile.
