It's now official in Iowa and Illinois. You can now be pulled over if a officer of the law sees you texting and driving.

This week is "Distracted Driving Week" (April 24th-28th) and Illinois officers will be focused on distracted drivers according to KWQC.com.

Iowa patrol officers will be focusing on distracted drivers for the entire year. The new distracted driving law in Iowa will go into effect July 1st and if caught, drivers will get a $30 ticket. In Illinois, its up to $120.

Distracted driving caused 1,100 crashes and 601 injuries in 2015.
