If you've traveled the midwest, primarily in the state of Wisconsin, you've no doubt seen a Shopko store or two. Well, you can add them to the growing list of retailers closing their doors. The Wisconsin based store filed for bankruptcy this week reporting liabilities between $1 and $10 billion.

The announcement means that nine Shopko stores that remain in Iowa will soon be closing down for good. The company announced that stores in Cherokee and Webster City, Iowa will close by March 3rd. The following Iowa stores will all close by April 15th.

  • Estherville
  • Clarinda
  • Vinton
  • Hampton
  • Onawa
  • Bloomfield
  • Eldora

Shopko operates 367 stores in 25 states. Among the stores that will be closing will be the original Shopko location in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The company also announced plans to auction off it's remaining pharmacy business that Kroger, Hy-Vee, and CVS did not purchase in a deal that happened last December.
