Proof Your Smart TV Can Watch You
Many didn't think it was possible.
We humans. We're an interesting bunch. We have come so far, and realize also, that we have so far to go. Some things, like privacy, human and civil rights (and the ability to watch T.V. without being watched), should be left alone.
It's more than Truman-showesqe, it's reality, which they always say is stranger than fiction.
It's worth knowing and looking into. If your smart TV doesn't have a camera or microphone (that you know of) then rest easy. The quickest fix I can think of is electrical tape if it does have a camera.
