This is a CRAZY weekend for basketball teams in the QCA. One team just finished a trip to the state tourney, another is back at State for the second straight year. One local school is making its deepest playoff run in 13 years, and another is hosting a Sweet 16 game.

The Pleasant Valley Spartans lost a heartbreaker, 50-48, to West Des Moines Valley in the Iowa Class 4A State semifinals earlier today. PV was trying to return to the title game for the second year in a row. The Rockridge Rockets clinched a spot in the Illinois 2A State tournament for the second consecutive year. Rockridge plays Chicago's Hales Franciscan tonight at 8:15 at Bradley University in Peoria.

The UTHS Panthers are looking to win their first Sectional title since 2003, but they'll have to do it nearly 250 miles away from East Moline. UT faces Alton tonight at 7:00 p.m. in Collinsville--a Panther victory would leave them just one win away from State.

Finally, the 28-1 Augustana College men's basketball team hosts their NCAA D-III Sweet Sixteen game versus Emory. Tip is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Carver Center in Rock Island. Augie rolled all the way to the national championship game last season before losing to Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Congrats to all the area teams on terrific seasons, and good luck to all that are playing tonight! #MarchMadness
