If you have small pets beware.

According to KWQC, coyote numbers are on the rise in the Quad Cities. Their numbers have grown since 2014 and your small pets could be dinner.

Residents in Silvis, East Moline and Geneseo have seen coyotes on their properties in the last few months attacking their pets.

Coyotes usually aren't a threat to humans but can bother walkers, joggers, pets, and bikers if they lose their fear of humans. It's recommended residents keep a noise maker on hand to frighten off the coyotes. The dollar store sometimes sells air horns that work perfect.
