There's nothing more disappointing than searching the menu at one of your go-to restaurants and realizing a favorite menu item has been removed. We've seen it happen before with Culver's, McDonald's, and Taco Bell, and now Chick-Fil-A is about to break your chicken-loving heart.

The chain's Chicken Salad Sandwich is about to disappear from locations nationwide on September 30, according to Thrillist, and there's even more bad news: The manager I spoke to at the Davenport location said they have run out of the bread used to make the sandwich, so they are no longer serving it.

Luckily, QC residents can get their fix for at least a little bit longer. According to a worker at the Moline location (on 41st Ave, not the mall), they still have all of the ingredients to make the sandwich and will most likely be able to serve it until the end of September.

A spokesperson for the chain said the decision was tough, but ultimately, they believe Chick-Fil-A customers are looking for new products. Mac and Cheese and Bacon Baked Beans are currently being tested in some markets.

To help cushion the loss, the restaurant has posted the recipe for the beloved Chicken Salad on their website, so you can at least attempt to recreate the sandwich at home.
