Rock Island Kmart Sold

The Rock Island Kmart building has been empty for awhile and this buyer has plans.

It is so odd to me that the doors of the Rock Island Kmart are closed. My kiddos and I would make a quick trip there from time-to-time to grab things we needed because it was convenient and affordable.

Augustana College purchased the Kmart location last month,, according to KWQC.com.

While there has been no 'official word' on what will be there instead, the City of Rock Island would like to see it buzzing with retail once again. No one has really shared any ideas as to what might happen next but given it's a high-traffic area that is easily accessible, the possibilities are endless.

I have my own ideas about what I think would do very well there but how about you? What would you like to see put in at this Rock Island location? What is it that Rock Island needs that they don't have already?
