QC drivers need to be on high alert this week. According to WQAD, both the Illinois and Iowa State Police will be out in full force for the holiday weekend, due to increase in traffic during this busy travel time. More travelers=more potential for accidents.

The Illinois State Police will be on the lookout for seatbelt violations, speeding, and distracted drivers. The Iowa State Police says that seatbelt violations are their main target.

I can also imagine that patrols will be watching for potentially intoxicated drivers as well. Tomorrow night is traditionally one of the biggest drinking nights of the year. Be smart and get a DD or call an Uber if you feel you can't drive. It's always better to be safe than sorry. Get home safe so you can spend Thanksgiving with your family.

Extra patrols will be out through the weekend for both states, so please, drive safe.
