Take note if you're interested in buying a firearm anytime soon- Illinois gun laws are about to change.

According to WQAD, starting January 1, 2019, anyone purchasing a gun in the state will have a three day waiting period.

Additionally, the bill eliminates a waiting period exemption for residents of other states who purchase firearms at Illinois gun shows.

Another law allows family members to remove a gun from a person's possession if they deem another family member to be a safety threat.
