The Best Places to Brunch in the QC
There's got to be a million and one opinions on the best brunch spots in the Quad Cities.
Why do I love brunch so much? For one, it's the perfect way to wake up after a late-night out and two, it gives you an excuse to drink (bloody mary, mimosa, beer... hey, no judgements) before noon.
After being graced with this beyond glorious creation via Facebook, I naturally couldn't just turn my mind off of food. Oh no no... So I decided to channel that energy into something good - for you and for me.
Behold, the best "brunch" spots in the Quad Cities, as ranked by me.
- 1
QC Coffee and Pancake House
I won't even tease you. Let's just start right from the inspiration for this fine piece of hard-hitting journalism.
Although I have yet to visit the QC Coffee and Pancake House in Rock Island, I can guarantee you a visit will be made soon just based on the sheer curb appeal of those pancakes.
The best part? They're not just limited to breakfast!
- 2
Hotel Blackhawk
If you want to splurge a little on brunch (fellas... a great pick for Valentine's - hint hint!), then Hotel Blackhawk is your scene. Bottomless mimosas accompany their brunch buffet, and while you're daintily cutting into the tender prime rib, enjoy the sounds of the lobby's jazz band.
Or if you're looking for a less-expensive option, but just as delicious food, head right next door to Beignet, Done That. You will not be disappointed.
- 3
Ross'
If you're the least bit familiar with the Quad Cities, then you've heard of Ross'. It was actually the first place I ever at a late night breakfast at when I moved here.
Ross' is famous for their Magic Mountain:
-Grilled Texas Toast smothered with ground beef, french fries, and cheese sauce.
Even President Obama has given in to his indulgences at this QC staple.
- 4
Granite City
Ok ok, I know what you're thinking 'Granite City isn't unique to the Quad Cities..."
Yes, but they have a KILLER breakfast.
Anyone that is looking for a reasonably priced, delicious brunch, I point to Granite City. You really get the bang for your buck.
Their brunch buffet is accommodating not only to those who like breakfast, but those who enjoy lunch as well (and I'm the one that's usually on the lunch portion of that, so I'm especially appreciative of places like this).
If you do give Granite City a try for brunch:
- Make a reservation (they're always busy)
- Try their monstrous caramel rolls. You can find them in the brunch line and I promise you, they're life changing.
