Rejoice, Iowa shoppers! Popular grocery store chain Trader Joe's has signed a lease for a new store at Coralville's Iowa River Landing (near I-80 and First Avenue) in 2017.

The store will be approximately 13,000 square feet and is planning to open in the second half of 2017.

Trader Joe's has about 466 locations, across 36 states, and has five more stores planned to open in 2017, not including the Coralville location. The Coralville store will be the second in Iowa, joining the West Des Moines location.

This news is music to the ears of many Quad City residents who have longed for a Trader Joe's, Whole Foods or other specialty food market to open up in the area. Fresh Thyme and Fresh Market stores are both being planned for Davenport, but having a TJ an hour away will still be pretty cool.

Personally, I'm excited to shop for some of their unique products, like whipped feta spread, cookie butter, organic marinara sauce, and low priced wine.
