Two Long Time Businesses Close in Milan

Business won't be as usual for the outer skirts of Rock Island County.

Having spent part of my childhood in Rock Island and part of my childhood in Andalusa, Milan became the place where I have  most memories. We went to the movies there, I skated there, we did our grocery shopping there and it seemed we were in Milan all the time for things.

This Sunday, Milan Lanes, will close their doors for good. It's been open for as long as I can remember but had new ownership 3 years ago.

The next business to close is Choice Video. I'm as equally bummed because my entire family and I all love going there to rent older movies or find movies Netflix doesn't have. Plus, the staff have become so familiar with us and know who we are when we walk in. We will miss that kind of greeting so much, and we will miss the free popcorn, too.
