Here we go! Yesterday I posted a rant about not being able to find the hot toys this holiday because greedy "humans" go and buy them up and then re-sell them on places like eBay and Craigslist for double the price. Check it out here

I shared the post on my Facebook page and got a huge response as to where to find Fingerlings. If you don't know what they are, here's a link to a video.

So, I went to one of the stores to find a Fingerling. No luck, but I was told they would be getting more. So, I put my name on a waiting list. A few hours later, I go a call that a shipment had shown up at the store. I went to Northpark Mall and got the Fingerling and was on my way when I stopped to chat with a friend. I was told the Fingerlings at that store were fake! P.S....I don't want to mention the name of the store.

Now, I had heard rumors that there were fake Fingerlings going around, but never thought we would see them. I went online and found a YouTube video about how to spot a fake Fingerling. Check it out here. Yep, I had a fake! I mean I bought a purple one and it was in packaging for a black one. The real deal ones are also packaged tightly. Fakes are loose...as was mine. Then the little girl on the back of the legit box is a brunette girl. The fake is a blond girl. The name "Fingerling" appears on the box for both, but there are some floating around called "Happy Monkey" and that is clearly a fake. The fakes are poorly assembled and the paint rubs off quickly.

The store took the fake Fingerling back and I informed them it was fake. I also did some more research on where to buy Fingerlings. Only Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, and Target are authorized retailers. Some Kmart's and Best Buys are as well.

Check out more at the Wow Wee Fingerling website. My search continues.
