It's the news no one wants to hear...We're nearing the end of the first week of April, and accumulating snow is still in the forecast for the Quad Cities.

Local News 4 is reporting that a taste of winter is headed our way this weekend. Not only will wind chills be in the teens and twenties tonight, but snow could happen Sunday night into Monday morning. Right now, they're calling it a possible wintry mix, but it's likely 1-3 inches of the white stuff could accumulate by Monday.

Luckily, the snow shouldn't last long, as highs will be back into the 40's by Monday afternoon. But Monday morning could still be a rough commute. I wouldn't put the snow shovels, winter coats, or boots into storage just yet, and you'll probably want to allow extra time for your drive to work.

The weather will finally start warming up significantly by next Thursday and Friday. Highs in the 60's could happen, but it also looks like rain is on the way.
