Local high school musicians are on a mission to battle the stigma sometimes associated with mental illness.

Beat the Stigma is a program created by drummers at Davenport North and Davenport West who are selling shirts to raise awareness with proceeds going to mental health programs at Vera French.

According to a story from Local 4 News, students say the issue is not understood by enough people and selling shirts will hopefully help people living with mental illness know they are still seen.

The shirts are on sale through the end of September, but donations will be accepted at games until October 30.

Here's where you can order apparel and support their program.
