When I first heard about this story from our sister-station in Cedar Rapids, IA., KRNA.com, I had to jump in and see if there was any way we could help spread the word to help Morgan Ebel.

Morgan was diagnosed in 2002 with a rare kidney disease, which she ended up needing a kidney transplant for. Thankfully, her Dad was able to donate his and she underwent her first kidney transplant. However, 14 years later now, that transplants is starting to fail.

According to the paper “while finding willing donors is a major hurdle, it is made even more complicated by the fact that additional antibodies were created with the first transplant, decreasing the chances of finding a matching kidney that her body’s defense system won’t attack.
