Burglary Suspect Has Car Stolen During Burglary

In what officers called a twist of poetic justice, a man in Odenton, Maryland had his car stolen while he himself was committing a crime right across the street.

Police were called out by a man who said his car was stolen, when another call came for the area - a burglary reported of a Verizon store, which was directly across the street. When officers looked, they saw there was some blood on the store's window, and some blood on the glasses of the guy who said his car was stolen.

It didn't take any time for officers to put 2 and 2 together, the 4 being that this guy had his car stolen while he was inside the Verizon store, burglarizing it.

When asked to show his hands, officers discovered blood on his hand and shirt and placed him in handcuffs.

Video posted by the department shows bodycam footage of the man repeatedly denying being at the Verizon store, while surveillance footage shows him burglarizing it.

"That's some karma right there dude," one officer can be heard saying before putting the suspect in the back of a police car.

The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Jalen Godard and charged with burglary, theft and destruction of property.

Police haven't given any info about the person who stole his car.
