Join In On The Pollination Investigation With Putnam

You still have time to learn more about pollination, or better yet the kids still have time to learn,.You just might learn something too, with this awesome event at The Putnam.

Pollination Investigation was created by Smithsonian Gardens in collaboration with the National Museum of Natural History and made available by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service. It is funded in part by the Smithsonian Women's Committee.

Fun fact that I learned on The Putnam sight, "Nearly 90% of flowering plants rely on about 200,000 species of animal pollinators for fertilization." Those numbers are crazy! And you can learn even more fun facts today!

About The Event

The bilingual poster exhibition has been embellished with a selection of herbarium specimens from a major collection.

The Putnam’s Botany Collection (or herbarium) contains close to 20,000 specimens, over half of which were collected before 1900.
