One Dead Following Fatal Accident on I-80

One person was killed following a fatal accident involving a semi, early Friday morning on I-80 westbound.

The accident occurred about a mile from the Middle Road exit, near mile marker 302.

Crews arrived on scene just after 3 a.m. to find the semi in a ditch and on its side.

Reports show that the driver lost control and swerved into the ditch, hitting some trees.

One lane on I-80 westbound was closed for about a mile. Eastbound traffic was unaffected.
