Quad Cities, Be Our Guest
There's been a lot of complaints that Hollywood is out of original ideas for movies. A lot of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid have become live action movies. G.I. Joe, Transformers, Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dr. Seuss books, and more. Now we have Beauty and the Beast to add to that list.
Disney originally released their take on the Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve fairy tail in 1991. It's the story of a young woman whose father has been imprisoned by a terrifying beast offers herself in his place, unaware that her captor is actually a prince, physically altered by a magic spell. This weekend we get the live action version of this classic.
I'm not apposed to live action versions of cartoons, infact I'm the opposite. I think it's a cool way relive my childhood. What's coming next? I know there's a new live action re-boot of the Power Rangers, and a Justice League movie coming, but what's beyond that? How about a good He-Man live action re-boot that doesn't star Dolf Lundgren.
