Quad Cities Repackaged Belgium Village Celebrates 1 year

The Quad Cities sure loves their VandeRuebens.

When the news hit that the Belgian Village was closing three years ago, I'll never forget the lines that wrapped around the building for one last order. I remember interviews of generations of families who enjoyed that restaurant for decades. It truly seemed sad, like a legendary place in the Quad Cities was just gone.

A flicker of hope turned it all around when the Manning family's daughter, Katie, decided to repackage Belgian Village and make the beloved VandeReuben to-go. They've been available cold, for you to grill at home or eat as-is. No matter what Belgian Village To Go plans on doing next, as long as the QC wants these sandwiches, they will be here, according to WQAD.com.

"People can pick up sandwiches at the Belgian Village on Thursdays from 11 to 7p.m.

Customer's can also get them grilled on Thursday at Hero's Pub in Davenport and Fridays at Hy-vee in Moline on the Avenue of the Cities."
