The Quad Cities’ Ghost Tales Contest Is Coming
One of the first things they told me when I came to work at the Rock n' Roll Mansion was that it was probably haunted. I heard all kinds of stories about the place but fortunately, they've all proven to be just stories so far.
Spooky stories seem to be a staple of the Quad Cities; people absolutely love them. As a result, the hype is pretty big for the 2019 Ghost Tales contest. The Colonel Davenport Historical Foundation and The Dispatch-Argus are officially accepting submissions!
The Ghost Tales program is happening September 28th, so original story submissions are due in by the 15th. The winning story will not only be read at the event, but will also be published in the Dispatch-Argus.
Here's some ground rules for submissions:
- An entry must be the original work of the author.
- Each entry must relate in some way to the Quad-Cities.
- Each entry must be 1,000 words or less.
- Each entry must be suitable for a family audience.
All I ask is that you please don't give me nightmares.
