We did it! Thank you to everyone who helped pull off one of the biggest birthday parties in the Quad Cities.

My friend Mitchell Kay showed up like a rock star in a limo (thanks to my friends Amber and Rhonda). He was greeted by over a thousand well wishers including local first responders, family and friends, and Bettendorf mayor Bob Gallagher. I was there hosting the party with my friend Dj A-IO, our afternoon vixen Just Joni, and Jeff Lynn (from sister station KIIK 104.9).

Mitchell was made a honorable LeClaire Fire Fighter, and received a vest and patch from Bikers Against Bullying. It was truly an amazing turn out. The goal was 100 birthday cards. Last time I was told, there were almost 4,000 and a lot of gifts. Mitchell told me he sometimes has trouble sleeping but had a feeling he was going to sleep very well that night. That was the best feeling ever.

I helped his mom, Holly, give her son the best birthday party 14 years in the making, and knowing this young man was so happy that he was going to rest well. So, thank you Quad Cities for making this young man feel amazing.
