Hy-Vee announced on Tuesday that effective immediately, they will start limiting meat purchases at their store.

If you planned on stocking up on meat at Hy-Vee, that will no longer be possible with their new policy. Hy-Vee announced on Tuesday that effective immediately, they will limit meat purchases at all of its 245 locations.

In the press released, Hy-Vee says that they continue to work with industry leaders so they are prepared for any possible changes in product. This is so they can best serve their customers.

Hy-Vee also said that they have product available at their stores, but due to a shortage in employees at meat plants as well as an increase in meat sales, customers at Hy-Vee stores may not be able to find the specific items the customer is shopping for.

The press release continued by Hy-Vee saying that because of the shortage of employees at meat plants and the increase in meat sales, Hy-Vee is putting a limit on customer purchases in the meat department. This limit became effective on Tuesday, May 5th. Now, each customer will be limited to only four packages of meat with a combination of fresh beef, ground beef, pork and chicken.

Hy-Vee will enforce this new policy when customers are checking out at their Hy-Vee location.

Hy-Vee announced their new promotion on Wednesday titled "Customer Appreciation Day." More details on how to save money on gas with Hy-Vee's fuel saver program during this promotion can be found here.
