Red, White and Boom is set to entertain and dazzle residents of the Quad Cities on Tuesday evening July 3. The evening's apex will be the fireworks show scheduled to start at 9:30PM CT. Dueling barges in the Mississippi will be firing off 4,500 pounds of fireworks which Red, White and Boom Committee Chairman Ken Croken says will make the fireworks "unforgettable." This according to an article in the Quad City Times.

But that's not all. Residents will have a variety of viewing locations and events at those viewing locations before the fireworks. Viewing locations are as follows: LeClaire Park and VanderBOOM Viewing Area in Davenport. Modern Woodman Park in Davenport and Schwiebert Riverfront Park in Rock Island. Gates will open at 5PM. You can also watch from the air-conditioned Davenport Skybridge, Bechtel Park, The Freight House Market lot, or anywhere along the Mississippi.

Vendors, concessions and entertainment is being offered at the following viewing areas:

  • LeClaire Park will feature musical entertainment by River City 6 at 7PM.
  • Modern Woodman Park will feature Rude Punch performing at 6:00PM CT on the first Baseline Party Plaza until 7:45PM CT. At 6:30PM CT sponsors, Davenport Mayor and Rock Island Arsenal officers will present to the audience. At 7:45PM CT an Oath of Enlistment ceremony and help celebrate new recruits into the Armed Forces! Immediately followed by the 34th Army Band and Scrap Metal brass band.
  • Schwiebert Riverfront Park will feature giant children's inflatables ($5 wristband), kids activities, food vendors, and a beer garden from Bent River Brewery. 5:00PM CT a proclamation and military tribute.  5:15PM CT Country Coach Potatoes perform. 6:30PM CT a performance by Metropolitan Youth Program Drill Team of Rock Island and at 7:00PM CT Smooth Groove.

Don't forget your radio! Townsquare Media Quad Cities, will have music synced to the fireworks at 9:30PM CT on The Quad Cities Classic Rock Authority 97X!
