If you've been thinking about adopting a furbaby, now would be a great time to do it.

The Humane Society of Scott County posted that there are waived adoption fees through August 8th because they're at crisis capacity with their dogs and cats.

The post says that all of their kennels are full and on any given day, they're getting at least 10 animals brought in.

That's why adoption fees for adult dogs and cats are waived through August 8th.

The post says that the shelter does not euthanize animals because of space, time, or for treatable illnesses.

If you can't adopt right now, you can consider fostering an animal until it can find it's forever home. Taking the animal to your place would help clear up room at the shelter.

Definitely Consider Adopting A Pet If You Can

That's my pet cat Chanel, who I adopted from the Humane Society of Scott County about a year and a half ago. She was an adult cat when I got her and I had a reduced adoption fee. All of the pets I've adopted before act so grateful to have a home so I highly suggest bringing a pet into your home if you can.
