Denise’s Morel Mushroom Hunt

Last week Denise Hnytka was in the studio and shared her love for morel mushroom hunting. I was immediately SHOCKED that this is how some people spend their time, and I was definitely in the minority on that.

We had call after call about Quad Citian's morel mushroom hunts, their whereabouts, the best time to find them, etc...

The important takeaway was to never ask a morel mushroom where their stash is. It's a highly classified location. But, you can find maps online - for the morel mushroom newbie.

Not only does the location for morel mushrooms matter, but so does the season and weather conditions. Denise had mentioned that after last week's rainfall, the past weekend would be perfect to find the sponge-like 'shrooms. And she was right. She hit the motherload with this year's hunt!
