Avalon is an intern here at B100 and I have learned just as much from her as she, has hopefully, learned from me. She loves giving back and volunteering in our community and helping causes for positive change. In fact, if you want to join her this Sunday in Davenport, you'll get your good deed in for the week!

I just learned of CommUNITY Day this Sunday in downtown Davenport. CommUNITY day is a student-led initiative partnered with QCB&T, United Way, St. Ambrose University, and the City of Davenport.  They will have two shifts, 9a.m.-12p.m. and 1p.m.-4p.m. Volunteers will be going out into the neighborhood  to do some spring-cleaning. They will focus on modern-income homes in the surrounding neighborhood of St. Ambrose University.  Volunteers will participate in raking, waste removal, laying out mulch, painting, and much more.  A block party/cookout taking place in the parking lot of Kreiter Hall, on the corner of Ripley and Locust where we invite all volunteers and community members to come together with a common goal: to unify this community!
It looks like there is a chance for rain, so if this does get rained out, plan to help on May 2, 2015!
If you'd like to help or want more info, email: CommUNITYDay@sau.edu
