Rock Island Math Teacher Honored For Supporting And Challenging Her Students

It's the Fall 2023 semester and we are heading out to schools with our awesome program with Nothing Bundt Cakes and Scooter's Coffee to honor and reward our awesome Quad Cities teachers and educators. It's called QC Teacher of the Week and we are so excited to announce this week's teacher of the week!

It's now time to announce this week's B100, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and Scooter's Coffee's QC Teacher of the Week!

Congratulations to Jazmin Taylor, a Math teacher at Washington Junior High School in Rock Island!

Ms. Taylor was nominated by a parent of one of her students. She said in her nomination:

Ms. Taylor teaches math at WJHS. She doesn’t just teach math during the school day. She also leads a Math Counts group starting at 7am several days a week and takes those students to competitions on weekends. This gives students an opportunity to challenge themselves and extend their learning. Ms. Taylor also offers an abundance of time before and after school for students to get help, do retakes, or get extra math practice in. She is super organized and sends out communication to parents every Sunday letting us know what our students will be working on and what they need to study. Beyond teaching, she goes out of her way to support her students in their extracurricular activities. She came to my son’s music performance on a Saturday just to support him and the other students from Washington. She truly goes above and beyond her duties as a teacher and her students love her! I would really like her to win so that she knows that her efforts do not go unnoticed.
