Who knew you could support a local animal shelter by walking your dog? Mutt Strut is Quad City Animal Welfare Center’s fundraising walk for pets and their families on the scenic Hennepin Canal Pathway and will be held Sat., Sept, 23, from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

The Mutt Strut event also includes vendors, games, a silent auction, and demonstrations in the Milan American Legion parking lot, 515 1st Ave. W., Milan.

Registration for the event is $25. T-shirts/goodie bags are available in limited quantities so  don't delay. 

A Mutt Strut Pre-Party is held on Thursday, September 21st, from 5 to 7 p.m. and includes packet pick up and silent auction preview.

Start bidding for a good cause and get your packet including T-shirt ahead of time.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

-Blessing of the Animals

-1.5 mile stroll along the recreation path behind the Milan American Legion

-Quad City Animal Welfare Center table with information about becoming a member, volunteering, our low cost high quality spay/neuter & wellness clinic, and adopting

  • Quad City Dog Obedience Club and Contented Canines Demos
  • Dance & Sing with DJ Red Hot Brian Scott

RULES & REGULATIONS:

  • All dogs must be current on rabies vaccinations
  • Walkers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Pets must be on a leash at all times
  • No retractable leashes
  • No dogs in any stage of heat permitted
  • Please clean up after your pet
