Take a look around your place today. How many books do you have? I know..."what's a book?" I, Wes Jordan, own MANY books. I have books about the Chicago Cubs, musician auto-biographies, my daughters books, and cook books (Yes, I cook!).

10% of people say they don't own a SINGLE book, according to a new study. But we DO own an average of eight different gadgets that are linked to the Internet. And for people under 24, that jumps up to 20%. The average person has more than eight things linked to the Internet . . . including computers, phones, tablets, video game consoles, and everything else.

Here's the thing, if you read a book before bed, you'll sleep way better. The blue wavelengths of light from LED screens like those in our phones, laptops and tablets mess with our circadian rhythm by suppressing the body's release of melatonin, the hormone our body secretes as it gets dark in order to calm us and prepare us for sleep.

So put down the gadgets, pick up a good book, and get some sleep.
