
44th Annual Race Won’t Be So ‘B-rrry’ This Year In Iowa
With a name like B-rrry Scurry, you would think that this race is normally cold and there is plenty of snow on the ground. Typically, that's the kind of weather you would find in Clinton, Iowa during a race held in early February.
The 44th annual B-rrry Scurry race is taking place in Clinton this weekend. I don't know if you've checked the forecast for this weekend, but there is no snow and mild winter temperatures in the forecast. If you're looking to get out and get a good run in, you might want to sign up for this fun race.
Clinton Community College (CCC) will host the 44th Annual B-rrry Scurry 4-Mile Run on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Runners and walkers love the B-rrry Scurry race day atmosphere. The route is flat and fast, with chip timing and instant results. Participants have called the B-rrry Scurry “one of the best little races in the Midwest!”.
Proceeds from the race benefit CCC students through Paul B. Sharar Foundation B-rrry Scurry scholarships. Since 1981, the race has helped award over $115,000 in scholarships.
The B-rrry Scurry begins at 12 p.m. on Saturday at the college, 1000 Lincoln Blvd., Clinton. Runners and walkers are invited to participate. No pets or strollers are allowed on the race course. Drive Thru Packet Pickup is Thursday January 30 from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m., and Friday, January 31 from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. There will be Saturday packet pickup from 9 – 11:30 a.m.
Registration is available online or at CCC, 1000 Lincoln Blvd., Clinton, to pick up a form.
Prize money is awarded to the male and/or female that sets a new B-rrry Scurry course record on the out-and-back flat-and-fast course.
The Women’s record was set in 2022 by Olivia Dietzel with a time of time of 23:08. The Men's record was set by Devin Allbaugh of Bettendorf, Iowa in 2023 with a time of 19:18.
