You'll be able to see amazing art done by incredible artists and all they use is sidewalk chalk. It's a really cool way to bring beautiful art and color to Schwiebert Park in downtown Rock Island.

Quad Cities Chalk Art Fest

It's the 8th annual Chalk Art Fest this Saturday and Sunday (June 22-23) at Schwiebert Park (101 17th St) in Rock Island. The festival starts at 10 a.m. both days and goes on till 7 pm on Saturday and 5 pm on Sunday.

This is a free, live outdoor arts festival and it brings together hundreds of artists who spend hours creating incredible art that turns Schwiebert Park into a museum of chalk art. These artists are also competing for cash prizes. Over $1,800 in cash prizes will be awarded including a people’s choice and youth category award.

Visitors can walk by over even sit and watch to see these incredible works of art as they come to life, vote for their favorite, and even do some chalk art of their own, by taking part in the community piece.

Chalk Art Fest features a full line-up of live music, food trucks, concessions, a beer garden, face painting, and a kid’s chalk zone area.

The chalk art is temporary and unique. There is a chance for storms Saturday night so you might only get Saturday afternoon to see these awesome masterpieces. See more details here.
